We are currently seeking a skilled Automotive Electrician to join our workshop team in Silverdale, Auckland. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys diagnosing complex faults, working on advanced vehicle systems, and combining both electrical and mechanical expertise across a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles.

About the Role

As an Automotive Electrician, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems on a range of light commercial vehicles and heavy diesel trucks. Working in a modern, well-equipped workshop, you'll use the latest diagnostic tools and manufacturer technology to keep our customers' vehicles operating safely and efficiently.

This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working with industry-leading commercial vehicle brands.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults across light commercial and heavy diesel vehicles

• Service, maintain, and repair mechanical systems including engines, drivetrains, braking, and suspension systems

• Troubleshoot and repair vehicle electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems

• Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance

• Carry out wiring repairs, accessory installations, and electrical upgrades

• Utilise manufacturer diagnostic software and equipment

• Complete service documentation and maintain accurate workshop records

• Work closely with Service Advisors and customers to communicate repair requirements

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Automotive Technician, Automotive Electrician, or equivalent trade qualification

• Minimum 3 years' experience working with commercial vehicles, diesel engines, trucks, or heavy equipment

• Strong electrical diagnostic and fault-finding capability

• Sound mechanical knowledge and repair experience

• Experience using diagnostic scan tools and electronic troubleshooting systems

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach

• Commitment to workplace health and safety
